In the heart of Rome, the 800-year-old Basilica di San Clemente embodies beauty that lasts. It is a vessel of priceless art: Renaissance frescoes, baroque wood carving, and a Byzantine chancel. But Irish Dominicans who care for the Basilica lack the means for critical restoration.
